Journalists banned from Mount Everest
Journalists are no longer allowed to go any higher than base camp on Mount Everest when visiting the Nepalese side of the mountain, which is the world's highest. This move comes after an American was forced off the mountain after being discovered with a Tibetan flag.

PSLV rocket launches ten satellites
An Indian Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle has successfully launched ten satellites. The 44-metre long rocket lifted off from the second launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at 03:53:51 GMT on Monday, and reached a polar, Sun-synchronous low Earth orbit a little over seven minutes later. Following burnout of the fourth stage of the carrier rocket, the payloads were released.

Two trains collide in China killing dozens and injuring hundreds
Two trains have collided in Shandong, China 4:41am local time on Monday killing at least 70 people and injuring over 400, including four French citizens. It is still not known exactly how many people were on either of the trains.

US Dept of Justice IP address blocked after 'vandalism' s to Wikipedia
Wikinews has learned that a United States Department of Justice IP Address has been blocked on Wikipedia after making s to an article which were considered "vandalism". In two separate instances, the IP address from the DOJ removed information from the Wikipedia article about the organization Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America , regarding an attempt by the organization to secretly gain influence on the site. The IP address has been confirmed by Wikinews to be registered and used by the DOJ located in Washington, D.C.
