Wikinews:Wikinewsies

From Wikinews, the free news source (BETA)

Wikinewsies are the people who write and edit articles for Wikinews. Some might argue that Wikireporter would be a more appropriate name. The ending of Wikipedian, on the other hand, suggests someone who is part of a group or community. So in this sense, Wikipedians are people who form The Wikipedia Community. For additional discussion of the Wikinews community, see the newsroom.

As of February 6, 2005, there were 1,404 registered contributors to Wikinews.

The diversity of Wikinewsies renders it impossible to make many categorical statements about Wikinewsies as a whole. Some information about individual registered Wikinewsies may be available on their user pages. However, users are not required to create these pages, nor to post any information on them.

This page contains lists of Wikinewsies by country, and links to other Wikinewsy lists including Wikinewsies available by IM and other "instant" contact. Individual Wikinewsies may add themselves to appropriate lists if they wish. It is suggested that if you put your name on one of the more specific lists, that you also include your name on the alphabetical list.
