I'm Romke van der Meulen (Talk). I've been a member of Wikinews since March 2nd, 2005.

I live in the Netherlands, and in my free time I mainly concern myself with Philosophy and SF or Fantasy. Since I've descovered Wikinews I have shunned daylight and commited my very essence to creating and perfecting articles.

I believe in alien abduction, mass conspiracies and the number 47.

My motto: De Gustibus Non Est Disputande.

I like to think of myself as a Renaissance man, schooled in science, culture and philosofy. Today's society demands of this generation to specialise in one subject and never explore anything else again, lest it be a small hobby. I could go on at this subject for hours, but let's not go there.

I'm 18. I go to VWO school and do nothing. I plan to study AI (that's Artificial Intelligence for everyone who hasn't watched that appaling movie) at the Rijks Universiteit Groningen. One day, I will be the worlds greatest writer, architect, physisist, chemist, mathematician, philosofer, componer, rocketscientist, psychologist, surgeon, etc..

I listen to the voices in my head.

I'm a fan of Magic the Gathering (http://www.magicthegathering.com) and of Diplomacy (http://www.lancedal.demon.co.uk/dip2000/), but I also like chess. If you want to play any of these games sometimes, you know where to find me.

How I work

How I work on WikiNews is really quite simple:

My mothertongue is Frisian, Dutch my second language and English my third. As I'm not good at spelling in Dutch and Frisian, you can imagine how my English is. So I usually leave it to the gnomes and gaeries to fix my article up.
