From Wikinews, the free news source that you can write!

As a regular Wikipedia user, I can see the potential of WikiNews. Unfortunately, I don't have a great deal of time to contribute to it. As I've discovered, putting in more than a stub is a time-consuming process. However, I would encourage others to do so. Five to ten minutes on an article can eliminate spelling and typographical errors, or extend the references. An apparently small contribution can enable someone to considerably expand an article if they have time.

WikiNews Compulsions

There are certain things I think need to be consistent on WikiNews, and will frequently to correct.

One, references. Look for an article with good references code to copy. Check all your reference sources resolve correctly into Wikipedia. Avoid references that require registration. Articles from http://news.bbc.co.uk are from BBC News Online.
