Hardware Supported by Madwifi
This page lists hardware known to work with Madwifi. If you want to add entries, feel free, but please follow the general format of the other entries, and add something to the summary box.
Please be aware that some of the cards reported as "not working" will probably work fine now with madwifi-ng.
Lists with hardware that is based on Atheros chipsets can be found here, here and here. If you're looking for a more general list of available WLAN devices, check this.

DWL-AG520
Chipset:AR5212 (a/b/g). In my card, the surface of the chip itself reads 'AR5212A-00'
Chipset Revision:H/W: A1. This 'hardware version' number is printed next to the serial number, in the barcode sticker usually at the back of the box, or next to the serial number barcode in the card itself. I don't know if there are any other revisions out there, but my AG520 worked fine and it was an A1.
URL:http://www.dlink.com/search/?qry=DWL-AG520&x=6&y=11
URL:http://www.dlink.com.sg/products/?pid=16
Interface:Native PCI interface.
Antenna Connector:1.5m of cable connected to board via MMCX. Easy to break, and removing the protective heat shrink tube will reduce the strain relief.
Antenna:Seems a bit fragile when fixing it to its base. Nevertheless, it seems to have a nice power/gain (or whatever you call it :). Without any tweaks, it covers my full house (110 square meters, passing through 2 or 3 brick walls). The reception at the furthest point is minimal BUT useable (at least browsing the net). I will try with a reflector to maximize directional gain (and minimize my upper neighbours from sucking my wifi :).
Device Information:PCI ID 168c:0013
Notes:It works out-of-the-box. Download and compile latest kernel (mine 2.6.12.1), download latest madwifi (mine 25th June 2005), compile (make & make install), and DONE! :) **It works fine in Master mode** (so far, b-mode, as I don't have a g-card at hand), although some more tests will be done to see if it gives a good TX rate, or if it has any stability issues. But, so far, so good! :) This is a discontinued product. It has been 'replaced' by the DWL-AG530
