Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - B.R.M.C.

This album is a very good debut, if you liked The Strokes you will like this. Whatever Happened To My Rock 'N' Roll (Punk Song) is just that, a punk song for 2002, excellent. There are plenty of guitar riffs, feedback and other effects that make this an album to play up loud. BRMC don't just do loud though, as the final track, Salvation, shows. They also know how to write a good melody and with such a cool name they are bound for the big time. I like this album a lot, can you tell? Bands like this prove that rock and roll is alive and well and is ever-evolving. The only trouble with such a good debut is how to follow it. I wait in anticipation.

Critics missed these guys, now they're bitter

Hey, so what if all the songs sound the same if they ALL SOUND GOOD. Something a few other bands need to figure out.

Anyway, these guys will be all over the cover of Rollingstone and Spin before long, so you can hate them then at your leisure. In the meantime, turn this up really loud and piss off your rap-playing neighbors because this is the new shit.

What does it sound like? Dandys without the spanking off, Strokes with actual balls, Jesus and Mary Chain without the lame lyrics. Fuzzed out as fuck-all and melodic. This is what all those other indie bands want to sound like but can't because they can't write very good songs. BRMC can.

So, critics can whine bitch and moan all they want to. Once again they've missed a killer new band, preferring to slaver all over bands that everyone knows about now.
